Registration for the 2026 11 plus entrance test is open until 5pm, Monday 15 June 2026.

No late registrations will be accepted, so please make sure you complete the process before the deadline. Children must be registered while they are in Year 5, and they will sit the test at the start of Year 6, on Friday 18 September 2026.

Special arrangements:

If your child requires special arrangements—similar to those used for SATs—please let us know at the time of application.

You will need to provide a care plan from your child’s primary school, or Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), outlining the recommended test setting and support your child needs.

This ensures we can provide the right environment and adjustments for them on test day. No adjustments can be considered after Monday 15 June 2026, so early communication is essential.

Update on waste collections

Our waste collection service is currently experiencing delays due to staffing shortages and the impact of this week’s hot weather. It’s also a scheduled catch‑up week, which means crews are managing heavier workloads than usual.

Teams are working hard to get services back on track and will be catching up on missed collections as quickly as possible.

In the meantime:

• Please continue to present your waste at the boundary as normal
• Collections will take place as soon as crews are able to attend

We’re unable to provide updates on individual addresses, but crews will attend as soon as they can.

We’re really sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we work to restore normal service.

🌳 Investing in better parks for Redbridge

We’ve been investing in our parks, and new toilets are now in place at Christchurch Green, Valentines Park, Clayhall Park, Seven Kings Park and Elmhurst Park. Each site now has modern unisex Danfo cubicles open for public use.

South Park also received an upgrade last year, with a full refurbishment of its existing toilet facilities.

We’re committed to creating cleaner, safer and more welcoming parks for everyone in our communities 💚

The meeting also marked the end of the mayoral year for Cllr Beverley Brewer and Deputy Mayor Joe Hehir. Many of you will have seen them at events across the borough over the past year. The Leader of the Council thanked them both for their dedication and service.

Celebrating together across Redbridge.

We wish all our residents celebrating Eid al Adha a joyful and peaceful day. If you’re out enjoying the celebrations, please take extra care in the warm weather - stay hydrated, look out for one another, and celebrate safely.

As we head into the weekend, we're also sending our best wishes to everyone preparing to mark Pentecost Sunday.

And we hope our Jewish communities enjoyed a wonderful Shavuot.

Redbridge is at its best when we come together, support each other, and celebrate the rich diversity of our borough. Eid Mubarak to all who are celebrating today and this week.
