From Jas Athwal, council leader
Dear all,
Today I took the difficult decision to *shut down all playgrounds, outdoor gyms and libraries across Redbridge.*
We now know that the COVID-19 virus can survive on surfaces for an unspecified amount of time and so I judged the risk of transmission via play equipment to be too great.
Parks will remain open in Redbridge for the time being, however it is essential that Government advice is followed and we all stay 6 feet away from one another.
If these instructions are ignored and local people continue to gather in groups in the park we will have no choice but to close our parks for the safety of everyone.
Please stay safe and well, follow Government advice and look out for your neighbours. Together we can overcome this difficult time.
Thank you for your help and understanding. *Stay safe.*

If you don’t want to canvass there are other ways you can help. We really need donations too.
Canvass and Campaigning activities for the next two weeks are below.
join us canvassing or on a street stall – we need to be putting the Labour message across, particularly our Green Industrial Revolution and other transforming policies.
Don’t worry if you haven’t canvassed before, you will always be paired with a more experienced canvasser for as long as you like until you want to go on your own. Sessions usually last no more than 1.5 – 2hrs.
Don’t forget the door-knocking training session at 7pm on Sunday 10th November at the Quaker Meeting House, Bush Road. Please let your branch know if you are intending to go to this as the organisers need some idea of numbers.
