What do you want Bedford & Kempston to look like by 2050?

Bedford Borough Council is officially asking residents to help shape the new 'Local Plan 2050', which will guide how our area develops over the next 25 years.
With huge projects like Universal Studios and East West Rail heading our way, major changes are coming to Bedford. This consultation is our chance to make sure those developments actually improve life for the people who already live here!

You could share your thoughts on:

🌳 Getting more trees, parks, and protected green spaces
🚲 Making our streets safer for walking and cycling
🏡 Building genuinely affordable homes
🚌 Improving our public transport routes
🛍️ Revitalising the town centres
..or maybe you just have your eye on a neglected piece of local land that could be turned into something special for your neighbourhood. Whatever your ideas are, they want to hear them!

⏰ The deadline to submit your thoughts is Monday 23rd November 2026, so don't miss out on having your say.

At Full Council on the 7th Oct I asked the Portfolio Holder for Health, Cllr Martin Towler, for an update on the funding application for a Kempston Health Hub.
After several attempts to get an answer, I received an email from a council officer today.
The email promises that Councillors will recieve an update on this vital service as soon as possible.
I will continue to chase this until I have been fully briefed on where we are on the process and how we move forward in our fight for better health services for Kempston.

Thank you to local residents that raised issues in their areas and thank you to Kara at Costa for allowing the space to hold the surgery.
Please report any issues to your local community police or contact your local Councillor's who can pass the concerns/ information on for you.
