Security systems don’t fail at the point of alarm activation.
They fail at the point of response.
A burglar alarm, fire alarm or CCTV system is only as effective as what happens after it triggers.
At Samson, our EN 50518 Category I ARC in-house Alarm Receiving Centre ensures that when an alarm activates, it doesn’t just get recorded — it gets acted on.
Our ARC provides 24/7 monitoring and coordinated response, including:
• Intruder & fire alarm monitoring
• CCTV alarm verification
• Keyholding & alarm response deployment
• Incident escalation procedures
• Out-of-hours support
• Lone worker protection
We can also take over monitoring of existing systems without replacing your equipment, allowing businesses to improve protection without unnecessary disruption or cost.
Because in security, the system is only part of the solution — the response is what protects the asset.

What is an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC)?
An Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) is a continuously manned monitoring centre where information from alarm and video surveillance systems is received, assessed, and acted upon in real time.
ARCs are generally defined in two categories:
Category I ARCs provide a higher standard of monitoring and handle security-critical applications, including intruder alarms, hold-up alarms, access control systems, CCTV requiring emergency response, and lone worker monitoring.
Category II ARCs typically handle non-security applications such as fire alarms, lift alarms, social alarms, and non-security video surveillance systems.
When an alarm is activated, the ARC is responsible for ensuring it is correctly verified and actioned without delay — whether that involves escalation, dispatching a response, or notifying keyholders.
A professional ARC typically provides:
• 24/7 monitoring of intruder and fire alarms
• CCTV alarm verification and incident assessment
• Coordination of keyholding and alarm response
• Escalation to emergency services where appropriate
• Lone worker and out-of-hours protection support
At Samson, our SSAIB certificated EN 50518 Category I ARC operates 24/7, delivering monitoring, respon se coordination, and operational support across security-critical systems. Our ARC is also Secured by Design accredited as meeting the 'police preferred specification'.
We support both end users and security installers, offering flexible monitoring and response services tailored to system configuration.
For end users, this means:
• Professional 24/7 protection when premises are unoccupied
• Faster response and escalation when incidents occur
• A fully managed security layer behind their system
For installers, this means:
• A UK-certified ARC partner for monitoring services
• The ability to offer professional monitoring without building infrastructure
• Reliable escalation and response aligned with installations
• A straightforward way to add recurring monitoring revenue
Professional monitoring is what turns a security system into an active, managed protection service.

Switching your alarm monitoring provider doesn’t always mean starting from scratch.
If you already have a monitored alarm system in place, there’s a good chance we can take over the monitoring without replacing your existing equipment.
That means less disruption, lower cost, and a smoother transition than many businesses expect.
At Samson, our in-house Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) is designed to integrate with a wide range of existing systems, helping you maintain security continuity while improving response and service levels.
From intruder alarms and CCTV monitoring to keyholding, access control, and system health checks — we provide a complete, joined-up service with one point of contact and full operational oversight.
If you’re unsure whether your current system is compatible, we’re happy to review it and advise.

🔐 Remote Opening & Locking of Premises
Opening and securing sites doesn’t always require someone to be there in person.
From our Alarm Receiving Centre, Samson can remotely open and secure premises using integrated access control and alarm systems.
Our operators can:
✅ Unlock doors at scheduled times
✅ Lock and secure buildings remotely
✅ Arm or disarm alarm systems
✅ Operate shutters where integrated
This service is particularly useful for organisations with multiple sites or lone worker considerations, removing the need for staff to attend early in the morning or late at night.
Remote access management helps improve safety, efficiency, and control across your premises.
