The 2026 Joseph Lappin Festival takes place on Sunday 31st May, 12pm–4pm at the The Joseph Lappin Centre.
The festival is one of the biggest events in the centre’s community calendar, bringing people together for an afternoon of live music, food and drink, children's activities, performances, community stalls, games and family fun. It's a celebration of community spirit and an opportunity for local people to come together, make new connections and enjoy a great day out.
For many attendees, the festival is also their first introduction to the support, activities and opportunities available at the Joseph Lappin Centre throughout the year. Services include a Food Pantry, fitness and wellbeing activities, gardening projects, family programmes, Memory Café, learning opportunities and wider community support.
It would be lovely to see you there!

The Pine Court team recently spent a great day working in collaboration with community partners and the NHS in the L1 community, bringing essential health services to tenants and local residents. As part of this initiative, free health checks and COVID-19 vaccinations were made available to people living in the area.

Our Halis Court development in charming and well-connected Hale Village is a new direction for Pine Court Housing Association – the first properties we are offering on a shared ownership basis.
Shared ownership enables you to buy a share in a new home, with shares usually starting from 10% depending on affordability. Buying a shared ownership home means that you are only required to secure a smaller mortgage to buy a new build home, which means a reduced deposit too.
Once you’ve purchased your home, we encourage homeowners to ‘staircase’ – this simply means buying more of the property when / if financially possible. The higher the share you own, the less rent you will pay to us. Once you’ve successfully purchased 100% of your home you will no longer be required to pay rent.
Shared ownership is a great solution if you can’t afford to buy a property outright. Depending on affordability, the scheme allows you to buy a share of a new home whilst paying reduced rent on the remaining share.
Halis Court is a unique offering, with four high-spec homes available on a shared ownership basis for £98,750 (based on a 25% share). Find out more at our website:
Halis Court

We celebrated the start of the Lunar New Year with our customers, colleagues, partners and friends this week.
On Wednesday, we held our popular Chinese New Year celebration for customers at Pagoda Arts, which was extremely well-attended, complete with Chinese dragons and kung fu demonstrations by local school Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu Club, singing and dancing from members of the Pagoda Arts Chinese Dance Troupe, and music provided by the Pagoda Youth Orchestra. Attendees then enjoyed a wonderful lunch provided by local restaurant Golden Empire. The raffle was particularly popular, with prizes provided by local restaurants Sing Faye, the Tai Pan, Er Pang, Genting Casino Restaurant and Man Tsuen Ho, while the Pagoda Arts Centre also donated a shopping voucher.
As well as customers, the event was attended by the Chair of Pine Court’s Board, Steve Gow, representatives from both Merseyside Police and Chinese Wellbeing, and officers from Liverpool City Council's City Centre Neighbourhood Team.
Shaun Williams, Housing Manager at Pine Court, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to celebrate The Year of the Fire Horse not just with our community but also within our community. Such celebrations bring everyone together, which is so important - our customers are at the heart of everything we do as we strive to create thriving, inclusive diverse communities, and celebrating the Lunar New Year is just one example of how we work to do this.”
Our Sovini Group colleagues also enjoyed a Chinese New Year celebration at head office on Thursday, with dancing dragons and young kung fu experts from China Spirit from the Wirral demonstrating their skills. After another splendid Chinese buffet lunch, courtesy of Golden Empire, Pine Court Housing Assistant Tracy Lin demonstrated the beautiful art of Chinese calligraphy. Thursday evening saw more celebrations at Chung Hok House, with customers, colleagues and partners coming together to mark the start of the Lunar New Year.
Many thanks to all who worked so hard to organise these events.
With its symbolism of freedom, enthusiasm and a strong drive for progress, the Year of the Fire Horse promises to bring positivity and achievement for all at Pine Court!
