Today, I opened University of Birmingham Dubai’s new campus, which offers 46 academic programmes. The institution is one of the world’s top 100 universities, which makes it one of the highest ranked universities in Dubai and the region. 10 of its researchers have received the Nobel prize .Home to more than 46 private universities, Dubai has emerged as a leading global destination for higher education, attracting thousands of international students. Many more prominent universities are set to join Dubai International Academic City in the near future.

I attended a reception at Burj Park today to welcome guests from all over the world taking part in the Dubai World Cup. The 26th Dubai World Cup is bringing together the world’s leading horse owners, trainers & jockeys & representatives of the international horse racing industry

Today I attended key sessions at the pre-summit day of the World Government Summit 2022 and was briefed on the preparations for the event. The conference brings together thought leaders and decision makers from across the world to share ideas that can shape a new future for government. Governments today need to accelerate innovation and enhance their systems to keep pace with global changes. Today, I met an Emirati medical team who performed the region's first-ever corrective fetal surgery on the spine of a 25-week-old fetus in the womb. I am proud to see this inspiring team bring hope and relief to an Emirati family preparing to welcome their healthy child. Our expert Emirati medical talents continue to uplift our confidence in our healthcare services. To all our medical & nursing staff, you are extremely valued... Thank you for your tireless efforts. Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Center for Endowment Consultancy has launched Sukuk Al Waqf, the first charitable endowment of its kind in the region. Featuring an initial contribution of AED100 m, the Waqf offers companies & individuals opportunities to support humanitarian projects. Dubai constantly explores unique new initiatives to enhance the development of various fields including the humanitarian sector. Sukuk Al Waqf provides an avenue to channel corporate social responsibility contributions to projects that benefit society.

Today, I was pleased to meet with HH Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait at the World Government Summit, and attend his keynote address during which he shared Kuwait’s experience in enhancing govt operations. His insights enriched the discussions at the Summit.

Today I toured the pavilions of Morocco, Switzerland & Baden-Württemberg at Expo 2020 Dubai and met with Will Ahmed, Founder & CEO of Whoop, a leading developer of wearable technology. We are always keen to engage with global tech leaders to exchange knowledge & share new ideas.
