Paddington Recreation Ground was full of energy, electricity & unforgettable moments as more than 130 young people with SEND took part in the SEND Mini Marathon 2026 πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ¦½πŸ₯‡πŸ’š

The event celebrated much than sport, bringing together schools, families, teachers, and partners for a fantastic day focused on inclusion, confidence, wellbeing and community spirit.

Youth athletes ran, walked or wheeled thier way around the track, with every participant receiving a medal provided by London Marathon Events 🀩

The day also included trackside warm ups and acitvities with Kensington and Chelsea + Westminster Change4Life Service, alongside "8 Steps of Calm" by authout Pali Kaur, supporting emotional wellbeing for young SEND people.

Did you know that London Fire Brigade attended a record number of e-bike and e-scooter fires across London in 2025? πŸ”₯πŸ”‹

That's why we're making it our business in supporting awareness around the Camapign to help Westminster City Council residents better understand battery safety and simple ways to help prevent home fires.

Residents are also encouraged to explore London Fire Brigade Home Safety Checker for personalised advice and guidance.

London Fire Brigade will also be partnering with Deliveroo for a Rider Roadshow event at Soho Fire Station on 2 June, sharing vital safety advice around e-bikes and lithium-ion batteries following more than 600 riders attending last year.

Young people can also get involved through the Fire Cadets program πŸš’
