And we're live! Our digital Christmas Campaign "The Tree of 1000 Lights" is up and ready to receive donations! https://xmas.kcah.org.uk
There are, guess what?, 1000 lights on the tree and right now it's not looking very festive...
A donation of just £10 brings life to a bulb, and I can assure you (because I built it) that when those 1000 lights are lit, it's a beautiful sight!
Not just visually, but also because of the difference every donation makes to someone, in Kingston, who is experiencing homelessness or is threatened with homelessness.
Particularly proud of the share after donation, think of your favourite daily word game, but with a Christmas tree getting progressively more lit!

CRESCENT ROAD TRAFFIC CONSULTATION
We are hearing from many residents in Coombe Hill who are very unhappy about this trial and we will continue to press for a reversal. Cllr George’s question at last Council revealed that £35,000 has been received in fines so far - outrageous.
The Crescent Road trial is in the consultation stage. Please send in your objections and forward these details to your neighbours.
Your comments will then form part of the officers’ report to the Kingston Neighbourhood Committee on 4 December, when a decision will be made as to whether the scheme should be made permanent.
Please respond to the council’s ’healthy streets’ consultation about Crescent Road so your views are included there too https://www.kingstonletstalk.co.uk/highways-and-transport/nkhs/
Myself and Cllr Ian George were the ONLY two councillors to speak out against and vote against the trial when passed by the LibDems at Kingston Town Neighbourhood Committee. We continue to oppose the trial, and successfully helped obtain refunds for many residents at the start of the trial.
The scheme will be discussed at Kingston Town neighbourhood on 4 December - please make your voices heard loud and clear.
If you would like to discuss or further help please contact the Coombe Hill ward Councillors on [email protected] / [email protected]
Let’s work together to get this deeply unpopular trial stopped!!

Out this morning speaking to residents in Lord Chancellor Walk and the Coombe Lane West area. Some really nice conversations on the doorstep. Issues raised include problem parking, crime concerns, council tax, road and pavement maintenance.

Kingston Council cock-up sees Crescent Road penalty charges cancelled, but no-entry restrictions remain
The new no-entry restriction into Crescent Road, from the width-restriction onwards, has caused much annoyance as drivers have been receiving fines through the post. The signage is unusual, and not particularly easy to read.

As one of Kingston Council's 'Armed forces Champions' I attended the VJ Day 80 commemoration in Kingston upon Thames this morning. I can be seen here on the steps of Kingston’s Guildhall with the Mayor, prior to the flag raising. Later in the morning I made my way over to New Malden for a well-attended service at the High Street Memorial.

Hounslow residents are being given the opportunity to put questions to senior councillors in a Question Time type format. An independent member of the public will chair the panel session, inviting members of the public to put their questions forward. Other councils do this too.
Kingston Council used to run such events years ago, but the LibDems changed the meetings to stage-managed events, then cancelled them all together. More...
