On Tuesday 19th May, the Consulate of the Republic of San Marino in London was honoured to accompany H.E. Teodoro Lonfernini, Secretary of State for Education, Ms Angela Giuccioli, Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Culture, and Ms Bojana Gruška, First Secretary at the Directorate of Political and Diplomatic Affairs of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of San Marino, to the World Education Forum at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster.
During the Forum, the delegation engaged in several bilateral meetings with their Italian and Ukrainian counterparts, discussing a range of issues including educational exchanges, future cooperation, and the implementation of new digital technologies — including AI — to support the future of education.
Following the Forum, the delegation attended the Emilio Isgrò: Erasing to Create exhibition, a thought-provoking presentation of the renowned Italian artist’s conceptual practice. The exhibition explores themes of language, memory, and communication through Isgrò’s distinctive technique of “erasure,” transforming written text into powerful visual works that invite reflection on meaning and absence.
The Consulate was delighted to assist the delegation throughout their visit. The occasion served as a valuable reminder of the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and cultural exchange in international diplomacy.

The Consulate of the Republic of San Marino to the United Kingdom is pleased to share that Consul Prof Maurizio Bragagni OBE has been featured on BBC Radio on 12th May 2025.
Speaking as Chairman and Chief Executive of Tratos, the UK division of the global cable maker Tratos Group, Consul Bragagni commented on copper prices reaching a record high and the consequences for infrastructure development in the United Kingdom. He highlighted that copper has increased sevenfold in price over the past twenty-six years, while global demand continues to rise sharply across electrification, renewable energy, data centres and power grid expansion. Geopolitical disruptions have further constrained supply, raising serious concerns over delays and increased costs for taxpayers in achieving the government's 2030 grid modernisation targets.
The Consulate is proud to see Consul Bragagni's expertise contributing to one of the most pressing infrastructure debates in the United Kingdom today.

The Consulate of the Republic of San Marino to the United Kingdom is pleased to share that Consul Prof Maurizio Bragagni OBE has been featured in an article published by The Telegraph, one of the United Kingdom's most respected and widely read national newspapers.
The piece focuses on San Marino's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, held this year in Vienna, where the Republic is represented by Senhit, an acclaimed artist who has previously competed at Eurovision on behalf of San Marino, alongside the iconic British singer Boy George. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the relationship between San Marino and the United Kingdom, bringing together two distinct cultural identities on one of the world's most-watched entertainment stages.
Consul Bragagni spoke to the deeper significance of this partnership as an expression of cultural diplomacy, reflecting that Eurovision is much more than a music competition. For San Marino, participating alongside internationally recognised artists is an opportunity to speak beyond the traditional channels of institutions and politics, and to reinforce its image as an open, modern and internationally connected Republic.
The Consulate is proud to see San Marino's voice and values reach such a wide audience, and looks forward to continued efforts to strengthen the bonds between the Republic and the United Kingdom through culture, creativity, and dialogue.
