🚨 Detectives are appealing for information in connection with an ongoing investigation into a kidnap in .
The incident happened in the Lea Road area at around 10.30am on Thursday 9 April.
It was reported that the victim met with an unknown man to discuss the sale of high value items. Upon meeting the man, the victim was forced into a black Nissan Juke and driven around for several hours. He was later released from the vehicle, after being reportedly beaten and cut. He had injuries to his face.
Officers have secured charges against one man in connection with the investigation, and arrest another.
Zackquarn Ansell Mason, aged 22, and of Frenchs Close, Stanstead Abbotts, has been charged with one count of kidnap and one count of blackmail. He has been remanded into custody ahead of his next court date on Tuesday 12 May.
Another man, aged 22 from London, was also arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Constable Alex Fairley from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s East CID said: “I am appealing for further witnesses and information in relation to this incident, as our enquiries remain ongoing. Any information from the public could be vital to the investigation.

Officers are appealing for the public's help to identify this man, in connection with an ongoing investigation into an assault in Enfield.
Police continue to investigate an assault, which occurred at a supermarket on Hertford Road, EN3 on Sunday, 26 May.
The victim had attempted to stop a man from stealing alcohol from the store at around 22:45hrs, before he was repeatedly punched in the face.
The victim sustained serious injuries which are not believed to be life-changing.
Investigating officers are now in the position to release an image of a man, who they would like to speak with in connection with this investigation.

We are appealing for witnesses after a child was assaulted, resulting in a broken jaw.
The attack happened on Friday 06th December 2024, between 3-4pm at Kendall Parade, N18 and Derwent Street, N18.
The child was alone whilst walking home from school and required hospital treatment.
The suspect is described as a white male, around 20-25 years old, stocky/chubby build, wearing a green tracksuit with his hood up, blue trainers, and may have been wearing blue gloves. It is believed that he is clean-shaven, and that he spoke with a foreign accent.

We recently organised an initiative to combat County Lines and Drug Misuse among young people.
The event brought together 30 young people from both Enfield and Haringey as well as , , and
Our first guest speaker was Belvin Lewis from . He spoke candidly about his upbringing and importance of being strong to make positive choices. The right choices led him to where he is today giving back to the community, serving as a role model to others.
Our second guest speaker was Dixie Joseph, whose son had been the victim of County Lines exploitation.
Dixie is now an advocate against Child Criminal Exploitation, her aim is to prevent other families from experiencing similar tragedies.
The day concluded with a tour of the stadium.
The collaboration with has paved the way to address issues affecting our community, ensuring that the message of prevention and support continues.

Paulo Teixeira, of Enfield, has been jailed for ten years after he was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13.
Between 2018 and 2019, Teixeira sexually assaulted the child on two separate occasions.
The court heard how Teixeira used his position of trust as a family member to premeditate the sexual assaults and isolate the child to conduct the offences for his own sexual gratification.
Officers from North Area Child Abuse Investigation Team said:
“We would like to thank the child in this case for having the bravery to disclose these horrendous attacks, and for engaging with the judicial process, with the support of their family.
“Teixeira’s predatory actions have tarnished the family and the impact of his actions will forever stay with the child and their family.”
On 17th January 2025, Teixeira was found guilty by unanimous verdict following a trial at Wood Green Crown Court.
Teixeira received ten years imprisonment for Sexual Assault of a Child by Pe*******on, and four years imprisonment of Sexual Assault on a Child, to run concurrently with the first count.
Teixeira also received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a Restraining order both lasting for 15 years.
Texeira will also now be subject to Notification Requirements under the Sexual Offences Act for an indefinite period.
