"Magdalena Mcnab is Alice..Before our eyes she disintegrates. It’s a touching and moving performance. The scene in the Saturday morning class of six year olds is a tour de force." /Richard Braine

"It is not often one sees an actor who can portray comedy and tragedy in the same sentence, yet Joanne Fitzgerald has that rare ability." /Richard Braine

"Orla Sanders and Aleks Grela complete the company. Both bring bewitching honesty and vulnerability to the piece." /Richard Braine

"The director, Florence Bell, orchestrates with masterly tact and persuasion." /Richard Braine

★★★★
"..my favourite character was Alice who should have been the one we all felt most sorry for. In some ways we did but, thanks to some great writing and wonderful characterisation by Magdalena, Alice was a wonderful comic character who had the audience laughing heartily, though never really at her. For example, there was a scene in a nursery school where Alice was working that brought back wonderful memories of the late great Joyce Grenfell in its writing and delivery."

"McNab is wonderful as the self-deluding Alice, allowing the audience to see the fear and anger underneath the pleading phone messages to Harry. Her “interactive art piece” drunkenly performed at Harry’s favourite pub is a fantastically funny and bitter moment, while her scene teaching a class of 6 year olds is a wonderful 21st century update of Joyce Grenfell’s monologues. The innocently brutal questions about her private life and her reactions to them are a highlight of the play."
/Claire Roderick, Fairy Powered Productions

"Sanders is bitingly funny and scary and delivers scathing criticism of humanity and then slips into poetic descriptions of her train journey without missing a beat or losing credibility."
/Claire Roderick, Fairy Powered Productions

"Grela..playing the vulnerable, bitter and lost character with great authenticity."
/Claire Roderick, Fairy Powered Productions

"Fitzgerald has a ball with Laura – slipping convincing lies into every conversation, then revealing the lie before launching blithely into another."
