Westminster Music Library The UK’s largest public music collection, Westminster Music Library holds over 80,000 items for loan and reference.

Open to everyone – free of charge. We have study spaces available, as well as a digital piano for practice with headphones. Please contact the library for more information or to book a free slot on the piano.

Are you a young adult looking for spaces to meet new people and make music? Join us for a FREE 6-week ukulele course, offered in partnership with The London Ukulele Project.

This course is open to all levels (beginners are welcome) and starts on Monday 4 March at 6pm. Registration includes the free loan of a ukulele. These sessions are specifically for 18-25 year olds.

We're excited to be hosting a children's take-over of our lunchtime concert series! On Wednesday 3 April, we'll welcome exceptional young musicians to perform in a shared lunchtime concert.

We are currently welcoming applications to perform in this concert from young people who are:
- Age 16 or younger
- Performing to at least Grade 6 standard
- Passionate about sharing music with a live audience

The Pomegranate London returns to Westminster Music Library for a special evening of literature, music, and dance in celebration of launching their fifth magazine issue.

Join us for readings from Michelle Penn, S. P Hannaway, Rodney Wood and Michael Tigchelaar, as well as special performances by TwoFold Theatre (contemporary dancer Jan Wood and Laurie Case), Isabella Gasparini (Ballet Dancer, Royal Ballet), Theatre Voliere (Mick Wood), Marconi Jazz (jazz piano), and Jakub Cywinski (double bass). We will also be announcing the winners of the Pomegranate Poetry Theatre Competition, judged by Mark Baldwin OBE and Martin Figura.

Copies of the new issue will be available to purchase on the night. This FREE event will take place from 6-7:30pm on Wednesday 8 November, followed by drinks at the Cork & Bottle.

Mindfulness and Wellbeing in Chinese Music: Songs of Tzu Huang 03/06/2023

Visit the library on Monday at 12:30pm for an exploration of mindfulness and wellbeing in Chinese music.

In this combined talk & concert, musician-educators Dr Paulina Wong and Gigi Chiying Lam will explore the relationship between poetry, music, and mindfulness, with a focus on composer Tsz Huang - one of the most influential composers and music educators in the history of contemporary Chinese music.

Admission is free, and all are welcome!

Looking for a free, fun way to kick off your bank holiday weekend? Drop by the library at 12pm TODAY to hear guitarist Cenk Sanlioglu showcase a brand new type of baritone guitar.

Cenk Sanlioglu is a world-renowned musician who has performed widely across Europe & Asia. Cenk has developed a brand new instrument that combines the strings from 3 different instruments and utilises a different tuning system than most baritone guitars. This special variation of a baritone guitar will be on display during this free lunchtime event.

In addition to playing solo songs on his guitar, Cenk will be joined by singer Begüm Vatansever for some songs.

Westminster Music Library is at 35 St. Martin's Street (on the south side of Leicester Square).
