“Public sector innovation today requires imagination backed by courage.”

🌏Robyn Scott, Apolitical’s co-founder and CEO, is joined by a number of our team at this week’s World Governments Summit — and what a week it’s been so far.

This morning featured a fascinating discussion on the future of work alongside Ted Kemp, H.E Gilbert F. Houngbo, David Bach and Tanuja Randery CBE.

Yesterday’s roundtable for the Edge of Government Awards was a fitting way to launch the Edge 50, shining a spotlight on public sector projects with the potential to transform what government does — and how it does it — for the better. Thank you to for hosting such a fantastic event. And congratulations to Friendship Bench Zimbabwe for winning the award.

It’s a real honour to be part of such crucial conversations. By being bold and imaginative, we can shape future governments that truly deliver for people and the planet. Much more to come.

✨Introducing: Apolitical’s AI Charter ✨

AI presents huge opportunities for governments — but only if it’s used responsibly, transparently and in support of public value. That belief shapes how we design learning for public servants and how we use AI across Apolitical.

In our new AI Charter, we make three commitments to ensure our work creates smarter governments, for people and the planet:

👥 Public servants first — using AI to enhance, not replace, professional expertise
💡 Intelligence with integrity — grounding our use of AI in evidence, co-design, human judgment and editorial independence
🤝 Trust through transparency — being clear and accountable about how we use AI, handle data and uphold privacy

The AI Charter is a living document and one we expect to keep evolving as technology, evidence and feedback from public servants and policymakers changes.
