Something unexpected happens when you live far from Switzerland.
The country doesn’t fade from memory.
It becomes more meaningful than ever.
The mountains feel higher.
The lakes feel quieter.
The villages feel closer to the heart.
For many Swiss living abroad, distance transforms familiar landscapes into symbols of belonging, memory, and identity.
This feeling inspired Timeless Switzerland — a beautifully illustrated three-volume series exploring the country’s most extraordinary landscapes, heritage sites, and legends.
The trilogy includes:
1. Echoes from the Cascades and Mountains
2. Castles, Monasteries, and Legends
3. Lakes and Rivers of Folklore and Memory (arriving March 27)
Across the three volumes, readers rediscover:
- Alpine waterfalls hidden deep within mountain valleys
- Majestic castles, quiet monasteries, and old towns shaped by centuries of history
- Enchanting lakes and mysterious rivers are woven into local folklore
- Places that helped shape Switzerland’s cultural memory
Timeless Switzerland is more than a travel collection—it’s an invitation to rediscover the landscapes and stories that make the country unforgettable, no matter how near or far you are from Switzerland.
The final volume of the trilogy is scheduled to arrive on March 27 on Amazon.

Congratulations!!
HE Ambassador Dominik Furgler presented his letters of credential to Her Majesty the Queen on Wednesday 13 November at Buckingham Palace. The ceremony at Buckingham Palace is the culmination of the accreditation process for new Ambassadors, and was followed by a vin d’honneur reception at the Residence. Mr Furgler and his wife Hayam travelled to the Palace by horse-drawn carriage, accompanied by Mr Frank Grütter, Deputy Head of Mission; Mrs Margrit Ledermann, Consul General; Mr Nicholas Niggli, Head of the Economic Section; and Mr Denis Charrière, Head of the Cultural Section. The occasion was memorable for its pomp and finery but also for the warm and sincere celebrations of the Swiss-UK friendship by all parties.
