A group for all those in London who identify as le***an, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex or q***r (or allies: all welcome) and are either in the Green Party or interested in green politics. The London network is in the process of being re-launched; we organised two friendly and accessible meet-ups in March and May this year. The mission of the LGBTIQ network of the Green Party of England & Wales is
to advance the rights of Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex & Q***r (LGBTIQ) people within the Green Party and in society as a whole. Through a range of political, social and campaigning activities we aim to raise awareness and understanding of LGBTIQ issues within the Green Party, progressive movements and in society as a whole, while also raising awareness and understanding of Green and progressive values among LGBTIQ people. LGBTIQ Greens aim to build a more sustainable and just society where everyone is valued, respected and empowered regardless of their sexuality. That said, we also challenge the notion that sexuality is not a political issue, or that our sexualities do or should not matter. The diversity within the LGBTIQ community enriches all our lives, and should be encouraged and promoted.
