Today is , a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, & political achievements of women, and reflect on how much further we still need to go.

Lib Dems plan civic centre shake-up if they win power | Haringey Community Press 03/05/2022

Haringey’s Liberal Democrat group is planning a radical shake-up of power if it wins control of the council following the May election.

The borough's biggest opposition group wants to change the way the council is governed from a cabinet system to a committee system, devolve power to residents and make it easier for people to access council services.

The Liberal Democrats also plan to invest more in environmental measures and youth services, build a wider range of housing, and scrap a costly revamp of Haringey Civic Centre in Wood Green that it has dubbed a “vanity project”.

Cabinet to splash out £54m on new headquarters 03/05/2022

Labour has the wrong priorities.

During a cost-of-living crisis, Haringey should not be splashing £54 million on new offices for itself.

Haringey Liberal Democrats are clear: STOP the £54 million vanity project and invest in our cash-strapped children's services, mental health provision, and interventions to stop our youth being sucked into the spiral of violent crime.

That is how you build a fairer Haringey.

Cabinet to splash out £54m on new headquarters Haringey Council's cabinet agreed on further funding for the Wood Green Civic Centre.

Dear Therese Coffey - stop the Universal Credit cut 28/09/2021

Lib Dem council and council group leaders are calling for the planned £20 weekly cut in Universal Credit to be cancelled. With the end of furlough and the impact of the pandemic on jobs and the economy, this decision by a heartless Tory government could really push people over the edge

Dear Therese Coffey - stop the Universal Credit cut Lib Dem council leaders and group leaders have written to Work and Pensions Secretary Therese Coffey to highlight our concerns about the planned £20 cut to Universal Credit.
