Archway Revisited ( A Trip Down Memory Lane) Does anyone remember the building when it was still a cinema?
Or did anyone go to the big planning meeting here about the proposal to widen Archway Road all the way up?

We are still waiting for validation of the current application to Islington Council to convert Archway’s last remaining cinema to a community arts centre.

It was application number 351 and number 470 is already registered. It’s not complicated. What is holding it up

Historic England believed that this historic hospital should be preserved and recommended it for listing. Here you can see an example of some original detailing from a ward still present today.

But Lisa Nandy as minister for culture, media and sport ignored the recommendation.

We can only assume she wants to please the developers who are offering housing on the site. But the demolition proposals would add no more floor space than exists on site already.

There's been much hot air from Islington Council about Archway Tavern, how about some practical action, not only is it not in use, it is an active eyesore violating its responsibilities to neighbours and the public realm, these photos taken a few hours ago show how a dedicated campaign of enforcement by the Council could apply rather more pressure asking nicely... Its time Navigator Square stopped been blighted by one of Archway's most irresponsible landlords
