Britain’s biggest bailiff firm forced into refunds programme after overcharging 28/08/2025

London Warrant Enforcement Ltd (LWE) would like to reassure you that we operate fully in line with The Taking Control of Goods (Fees) Regulations 2014, available here:
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2014/1/contents

Under Paragraph 11 of the Regulations, it is permitted for more than one enforcement power to be used against the same debtor. Where LWE receives instructions to enforce multiple debts under Schedule 12 of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007—and those enforcement powers can reasonably be exercised at the same time—we apply the compliance stage fee separately for each enforcement power. Any percentage-based enforcement fees are then calculated on the combined total of all debts being enforced.

In simpler terms: a flat fee of £235 is applied to the total debt at the first enforcement visit. Where the balance exceeds £1,500, an additional 7.5% is added to the amount over that threshold. For example, if the sum to be recovered is £2,750, the calculation would be: £235 for the first £1,500 plus £93.75 for the remaining £1,250 (7.5%).

If you have any concerns about potential overcharging, please contact us at [email protected] quoting your reference number and including the phrase “Fee Check” in the subject line. We will review your case promptly and provide a clear explanation of how your fees were calculated. In the unlikely event of any overcharge, a full refund or credit will be issued.
