As part of efforts to deepen trade and investment cooperation between Ghana and the United Kingdom, Ghana’s Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, together with Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson, visited Marks & Spencer.

Discussions focused on opportunities for garment production in Ghana for the Marks & Spencer brand, as well as exploring avenues to increase the presence of Ghanaian food products on the company’s shelves, creating new market opportunities for Ghanaian producers and exporters.

Day Two, which brought the Ghana–UK Investment Summit 2026 to a successful close, was truly remarkable. Ghana was proud to participate in the London–Africa Business Summit 2026, convened by the Mayor of London to strengthen trade and investment partnerships between London and Africa.

Representing Ghana, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, delivered opening remarks highlighting Ghana’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for investment, innovation, and sustainable economic growth.

President John Dramani Mahama delivered the keynote address at The Africa Debate 2026, held under the theme “Navigating a World in Transition”.

Addressing policymakers, business leaders, and development partners, the President highlighted Africa’s growing strategic importance in a rapidly changing global landscape and made a compelling case for stronger partnerships, sustainable investment, and African-led solutions to global challenges.

He emphasised that Africa’s future is not only critical to the continent but also to global prosperity, stability, and shared growth.

H.E. John Dramani Mahama, accompanied by Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson, visited a number of Ghanaian-owned businesses during his recent visit to the United Kingdom.

The visits provided an opportunity to engage directly with members of the Ghanaian business community, acknowledge their contributions to the UK economy, and explore ways of strengthening ties between the diaspora and Ghana’s economic development agenda.

On the sidelines of the Ghana–UK Investment Summit 2026, Ghana’s Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, held a productive bilateral meeting with the United Kingdom’s Trade Envoy to Ghana, Florence Eshalomi MP, to discuss strengthening economic cooperation and expanding trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.

On the sidelines of the Ghana–UK Investment Summit 2026, the Ghana High Commission in London, in collaboration with the Ghana International Bank (GHIB), hosted a high-level Breakfast Meeting for banking and financial sector leaders, with Ghana’s Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, as Special Guest.

The engagement provided an important platform for discussions on strengthening financial partnerships, enhancing investor confidence, and supporting Ghana’s economic transformation agenda through increased trade and investment cooperation between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
