As part of efforts to deepen trade and investment cooperation between Ghana and the United Kingdom, Ghana’s Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, together with Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson, visited Marks & Spencer.
Discussions focused on opportunities for garment production in Ghana for the Marks & Spencer brand, as well as exploring avenues to increase the presence of Ghanaian food products on the company’s shelves, creating new market opportunities for Ghanaian producers and exporters.

Addressing policymakers, business leaders, and development partners, the President highlighted Africa’s growing strategic importance in a rapidly changing global landscape and made a compelling case for stronger partnerships, sustainable investment, and African-led solutions to global challenges.
He emphasised that Africa’s future is not only critical to the continent but also to global prosperity, stability, and shared growth.

The visits provided an opportunity to engage directly with members of the Ghanaian business community, acknowledge their contributions to the UK economy, and explore ways of strengthening ties between the diaspora and Ghana’s economic development agenda.
