Being separated from birth parents is a trauma that all of the children in our care will experience and this can be added to when the child is also taken away from their culture and placed into an unfamiliar environment.

Identity is important for all children and young people, however it is particularly crucial for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) children who may be separated from their birth family, cultural heritage, community, and sense of self.

Staff at Today4U want to actively promote the identity of all children in their care.

Many young people aged 16 to 18 years old, lack access to safe and stable accommodation, hindering their ability to develop independence and overcome personal challenges. Today4U would like to address this by providing a supportive environment that empowers young individuals to acquire essential skills and confidence for a fulfilling and independent life, fostering positive contributions to their communities.

Today4U is a provider of 24/7 shared, safe, supervised and supported semi independent accommodation, for young people aged 16 to 18 years.

We believe in giving young people the opportunity to develop and grow in their independence. We recognise that young people will face many challenges as they make the transition into adulthood, we want to therefore provide them with the skills and confidence needed for them to live happy independent lives and to make a positive contribution to their local and wider communities.
