🚨BREAKING: Labour to slap residents with 150% Council Tax hike. 🥀

In August 2025 they said the prospect of CT rises due to Labour Govt funding reforms was “utter tosh”.

Nothings changed since then, but now they are floating the idea of 150% CT rises.

They knew they’d have to do that. So why did they cover it up?

First it was £69m. Now, after we've piled on the pressure, Labour admit the gap could be as high as £100m.

Higher bills, worse services, and even more tax rises yet to come.

Labour will now ask local residents and businesses in H&F to plug the gap their Govt created through a record CT rise. Nobody voted for that. It puts hard-working, cash-poor households on the hook for thousands more pounds. This is a terrible deal for our residents.

We will fight this every step of the way.

🥀 At a time when hard-working, economically productive households in H&F are facing thousands of pounds worth of tax rises from Labour, residents will be appalled to know that not only are we housing the families of terrorists, we are doing so in 5-bedroom houses and paying for extensive upgrades to them.

In a final two fingers to the taxpayer, Mrs Abu Hamza will even be exempt from the mansion tax most of her neighbours will qualify for. 👇

🚨 14 million in the red just two months into the financial year.

🥀 And this is before the Government’s Fairer Funding reforms take full effect with H&F already forecasting a funding gap of up to £69 million by 2028/29.

This is a bridge in the heart of our capital, vital for access to schools, businesses, and hospitals, but the truth is Labour has never wanted to re-open Hammersmith Bridge to motor traffic. All this announcement does is confirm what residents have long feared.

Despite being in power locally, regionally and nationally - Labour wilfully failed to lobby for the funding to fully repair this bridge. Our residents deserve better.
