The Case Registry for NAP8 is open!
NAP8 will study major complications of regional anaesthesia (peripheral nerve and central neuraxial blocks) as well as perioperative spinal cord and peripheral nerve injury.
We need to know about all cases where the patient suffered harm because of:
☑️a major complication of regional anaesthesia or surgical local anaesthetic infiltration
OR
☑️perioperative spinal cord or peripheral nerve injury.
The registry will be open for the next 12 months. Please report all cases that meet the inclusion criteria to your NAP8 local coordinator.

We are pleased to announce that Dr Claire Shannon has been re-elected unopposed as President for a third one-year term.
Congratulations to Jon Chambers, our incoming Vice-President, and Sarah Thornton, who is serving a second term as Vice-President 🙌
Dr Jon Chambers has served on Council since 2024 and is a consultant in anaesthesia at Dorset County Hospital Foundation Trust. Dr Sarah Thornton is an anaesthetist and Critical Care Consultant at Royal Bolton Hospital in the Northwest.
A special thank you to Dr Chris Carey, who steps down as Vice-President in September.

Two weeks on from and we’re still reflecting on an incredible three days of learning, collaboration and connection.
