Cherrydown Avenue is REOPENING!
**12th October 2026**
After months of lobbying by residents and local businesses, the council has confirmed the traffic restriction on Cherrydown Ave will be REMOVED!
We as Conservative Cllrs have consistently and repeatedly raised this issue and are delighted our calls have been answered!
The Council has now acknowledged that feedback from residents, businesses and Ward Councillors, together with the Experimental Traffic Order consultation, has informed its decision to remove the restriction.
We welcome the decision and will continue to push for improvements to Albert Crescent that make Chingford Mount safer, more attractive and easier to access — without creating unnecessary problems for residents and local businesses.
This is what local councillors should do: listen to residents, stand up for the community and make sure their voices are heard.
