This Month's health calendar focus is celebrating LGBTQ+ and inclusion.

Pride Month finds its origins in June 1969, after a major turning point for the LGBTQ+ community known as the Stonewall Riots in New York City. In 1999, June was officially recognized as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, celebrated every year to honour the progress made and the ongoing fight for LGBTQ+ rights.

Feeling safe, respected and able to be yourself has a direct impact on wellbeing. When people feel excluded or unsupported, it can affect confidence, mental health and how they show up in their life, including at work.

This month is a reminder of the importance of inclusion, allyship and understanding. Creating environments where people feel accepted and valued helps everyone feel more secure, connected and supported.

Small actions, open conversations and a willingness to listen can make a meaningful difference.

🗓️ Join us for our next Wellbeing Talk on Wednesday 3 June, where we’ll be celebrating PRIDE Month!

This session will be led by Michael Leese, who brings both personal insight and professional perspective to this conversation. He will share a story of identity, resilience, and why it matters to create environments where people genuinely feel safe, valued, and that they belong.

His journey into this work is deeply personal. After growing up with significant challenges, including time in the care system and a period in hospital during his teens due to mental health struggles, he learned early how vital support and acceptance can be.
