Handel’s Salon in partnership with Classic Art London
We are so excited to welcome author and Country Life's art market editor, Huon Mallalieu, to the House, where he will join our lead curator, Claire Davies, to discuss his newly published book, The Ear of the Beholder.
Huon’s book explores how artists have represented sound in paintings throughout time, from the literal depiction of musical instruments to the sights and sounds of landscapes. Together, Claire and Huon will look at Handel’s own art collection and how his favoured artists represented the sounds of the scenes they were painting.

New Exhibition: Hendrix in London 🎸
Opening Wednesday 18 June 2026
Included with general admission
We are so delighted to announce the latest addition to our Hendrix experience with a brand new exhibition!
Drawing on remarkable archive material, the exhibition explores Hendrix’s life through the people, places and everyday moments that shaped his time here at Brook Street. From handwritten notes to dry cleaning receipts, business contracts to fan letters, these objects offer a fascinating glimpse into both the world of a global music icon and the reality of life behind the scenes of the late 1960s music industry.
‘Hendrix in London’ is made possible with the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to money raised by National Lottery players.
Handel’s Salon: Musical Bouquets 🌸
Join us in Handel’s home as Teresa Wrann and Thomas Pickering present an evening of music by Handel and Telemann, exploring the composers’ friendship, correspondence and shared love of horticulture. Inspired by the botanical exchanges between the two composers, the programme also weaves in Les Fleurs by French composer Philibert Delavigne, creating floral companions to the music of Handel and Telemann.

Our Curator, Olwen Foulkes, takes a closer look at this remarkable manuscript, written in Mozart’s own hand 📜🎶
Dating from around 1782–3, this beautifully preserved manuscript captures the first 20 bars of the fugue from Handel’s ‘Suite in F’ (HWV 427). Originally written for the harpsichord, Mozart reimagined the piece for a string quartet. Although it is not known whether he completed the transcription, the manuscript offers an insight into how he engaged with and imagined Handel’s music.
Explore the fascinating connection between these two master musicians in our special exhibition, ‘Handel Through Mozart’s Eyes’, on display until September 2026

We were so honoured to welcome His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to Handel Hendrix House on Monday.
During the visit, His Royal Highness explored both of our historic homes on Brook Street, from Handel’s music room to Hendrix’s bedroom, and experienced live performances of the music once filled the rooms.
The Duke was given a first look at material from our upcoming exhibition, ‘Hendrix in London’, opening this June, which brings together previously unseen archive material to reveal a more personal side to Hendrix’s life in the city. This material was acquired with the support of Lottery Fund.
We also shared our plans to celebrate our 25th anniversary this year, including a new Handel exhibition in September and a special musical celebration in November.
It was a special moment for everyone involved, including our volunteers, whose passion and dedication are essential to the museum.
