Yesterday I wrote to the Secretary of State urging him to exercise his powers to call in the Broadwalk redevelopment application in Edgware for full independent investigation before any final decision is made.

This is not a routine planning concern. The scheme proposes a major underground electric bus garage beneath residential towers, despite unresolved safety concerns and no established building regulations framework for this type of structure.

Serious concerns have also been raised around fire safety, accessibility and the future of a vital transport interchange used by thousands of passengers every day. Once key infrastructure is demolished, there may be no way back if the replacement cannot be safely delivered.

Residents deserve transparency, proper scrutiny and absolute confidence that safety and infrastructure risks have been fully addressed before irreversible decisions are taken.

I will continue fighting to protect Edgware residents, transport links and the future of our town centre.

Reform UK Barnet is shocked and saddened by the latest attack in Golders Green.

How many more incidents must take place before the Government takes meaningful action to tackle antisemitism?

This cannot go on. We need tougher penalties, stronger policing, and a complete overhaul of the system to ensure Jewish communities across the UK can live in safety and without fear.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families at this difficult time. We stand with the Jewish community and hope this ongoing plague of hatred and intimidation is brought to an end.
