Today i came across this on the council website and wanted to share as knowing our companions are safe is very important.
……as part of the council's Social Care duties, we are responsible for the protection of property and pets, and funeral arrangements?
The protection of pets and property and funeral arrangements policy says we must protect the moveable possessions of our residents - these 'moveable possessions' include pets.
If a resident cannot look after their pet anymore - they may have been taken into care, or hospitalised, or the owner dies and has nobody to manage their affairs; we need to step in and find their animals a new home.

Cheating again……
🇬🇧 103 Miles Completed | Over £800 Raised for Combat Stress 🇬🇧
I’m feeling incredibly grateful and humbled today.
What started as a personal challenge to walk 103 miles in support of Combat Stress has become something so much bigger, thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many people. Together, we have raised over £800 for a charity that provides life-changing support to veterans struggling with their mental health.
As a County Councillor and Nottinghamshire’s Armed Forces Champion, supporting our Armed Forces community is a responsibility I take very seriously. Our veterans have given so much in service to our country, and organisations such as Combat Stress are there when they need support most. Knowing that our efforts will help contribute to that work makes every mile worthwhile.
I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, shared my posts, offered encouragement, stopped for a chat along the way, or simply took an interest in what we were trying to achieve. Every gesture of support meant more than you know and helped keep me going when my legs were telling me otherwise!
A special thank you must also go to my fellow “milers”, County Councillor David Clark and Councillor Kev Dale for Worksop North. It was a privilege to share parts of this journey with you both, and your support, friendship and good humour along the way were greatly appreciated.
Fundraising often focuses on the final total, but for me this challenge has also been a reminder of the generosity, compassion and community spirit that exists across Nottinghamshire and Bassetlaw. Time and again, people stepped forward to support a cause that matters, and that is something to be proud of.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Together we have walked 103 miles, raised over £800, and hopefully made a small difference to those who have sacrificed so much for all of us.
