We are pleased to announce that Romco Group Ltd has joined as a Production and Transformation Member of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI), the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain, bringing the total number of ASI Members to 169.

In Q1, 2021, the Romco Group processed a record 3,897 metric tonnes of various scrap metals, reducing 7,700 tons of CO2 emissions; the emissions equivalent of not burning over 17,000 barrels of oil.

We plan to create 7 recycling plants over 5 years to greatly increase Africa's bid as a powerhouse in sustainability. With a fifth of global population, the continent currently only recycles ~1% of the worlds recycled metals. We plan to change that.

From January to March in 2021, the Romco Group processed 3,897 metric tonnes of various scrap metals, 487% more than Q1, 2020.
Saving over 26,000 mWh of energy compared to primary sourcing, that's the electricity equivalent of 3,347 homes for one year.

Our first 200 tonnes of ADC12 (aluminium alloy ingots) have now been produced and shipped from our new facility in . This is just the beginning, with a planned capacity of over 740 metric tonnes a month.
