Veterans Welfare Group is a support hub for military personnel, and their families, bringing together a network of professionals providing advice and guidance, especially to those impacted by long-term injury. Our members have the skills and expertise in providing financial, legal, employment, educational, housing and rehabilitation support whilst understanding the complexities of various types of injury and how this affects everyday life. Our dedicated in-house support team are here listen to your concerns and ensure that we can help you every step of the way.

There’s still time to sign up for next Tuesday’s Veteran UK Expo Careers Fair at the QEII Centre in the heart of London! 🏙️

We’ll be there exhibiting with our own stand, dressed in our signature purple – you can’t miss us. Whether you’re a member of personnel looking for advice around medical downgrading/discharge or a service leaver who wants to chat about transitioning back into civvy street, we’ll be there. Members and ex-members of the RAF, British Army and Royal Navy welcome.

In July last year, ITV reported that the MoD acknowledged a link between repeated blast exposure from some British Army weapons and traumatic brain injuries in serving personnel and veterans.

Since then, awareness has slowly been growing. Yesterday, our COO Clare Harrison and Ambassador Cassidy Little, who went through a life-changing blast injury himself, were invited to Parliament alongside United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF), advocate for veteran brain injury Kate England and ITV News to discuss the personal effects of military blast TBI and the changes that need to happen to support those affected.

We're proud to be the headline sponsor of Operation Checkout, a Veterans Darts Championship being held this Halloween at The Palace Hotel, Buxton! 🎯

Hosted by Defence Darts, the day-to-night event will be a chance for veterans of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force to share experiences, build lasting bonds in the veteran community and possibly get a bullseye. Whether you're an experienced player or simply curious to get involved (through watching or playing), you'll be made very welcome.

Noise-induced hearing loss remains one of the most common service-related injuries among UK service personnel and veterans. Exposure to weapons systems, aircraft, machinery and more can have lasting effects that go on beyond service.

It's official ⭐ Dean Phillips has been named Role Model of the Year at the 2026 English Veterans Awards 🏆 👏

This award is a fitting recognition of the time, care and commitment he has given to service members, leavers and veterans. Dean has dedicated countless hours to helping others navigate the medical downgrade and discharge process, ensuring that service leavers have reassurance and support beyond their service.

His work is built on genuine care for people and a belief that nobody should have to face challenges alone. We're incredibly proud to see his dedication recognised on such a deserving stage. Congrats, Dean!
