ACORN Manchester - Union for the community Manchester branch of ACORN - the union for the community.

We are a member-led organisation supporting & empowering low-income communities across Greater Manchester to fight for a better life. We know that the economic and political set up in this country isn’t working for us, so we set up ACORN to give our people the power and representation they’re entitled to.

Join ACORN for a joint action in Manchester on Friday 23rd October, 6pm, starting at St Peters Square. We will demand Andy Burnham introduce Rent Controls immediately! Prepared by our sister organisations Greater Manchester Tenants Union and London Renters Union.

Bring cardboard boxes. Bring mates. Bring your anger at the cost of living, and use it for good!

Take 30 seconds to take action... online! 📱💻✊️

ACORN have been taking direct action to tackle the big bosses lining their pockets with our cash and making cost of living crisis worse by the day 😡

To tackle this crisis, we need to put pressure on all fronts, including on politicians to not turn a blind eye to companies squeezing us ever harder.

For that, we need numbers 😤😤😤

(see pic 2 for a lovely canine surprise) 🐕

We've been out talking to the public in North Manchester about the cost of living, the rising price of water and how the current 💩 infrastructure has been affecting them - and what we're hearing is not good 👂😡

It's unacceptable that the people of the North West are being crushed under debt or having dirty water coming out of their taps 🤬

Have you been facing rising bills? Got any watery horror stories? Let us know so we can start fighting this together! Use this link to send us your stories:
