Early CPR and defibrillation can more than double the chances of surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, yet many people still hesitate to act. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a critical emergency procedure that maintains blood flow to the brain and vital organs when the heart stops beating. Without CPR, permanent brain damage can begin within four minutes, and death can occur within four to six minutes. By performing chest compressions, you keep oxygen-rich blood circulating, significantly increasing the likelihood of successful resuscitation.

ACS Stop the Bleed ACS Stop the Bleed offers the premier bleeding control course and kits. We are the largest global provider of bleeding control training and empower anyone to save a life by learning 3 basic actions to control severe bleeding in an injured person.

Royal British Legion stalwart to whom 'every name mattered' dies aged 89 04/06/2026

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Bill Bryan, a deeply respected resident and former member of Nether Langwith Parish Council.

Bill dedicated years of service to our village, leaving behind a lasting legacy. He researched the biographies of the WWI and WW2 names that now feature on the memorial. His unwavering support for the Royal British Legion, the Western Front Association, and our local community was also formally recognised earlier this year with the Bassetlaw Achievers Award.

Nether Langwith Parish Council held a one-minute silence at the beginning of our meeting tonight to remember Bill. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Bill’s family and friends during this difficult time. 🕊️
