Please ❤️ to let our Reform Councilors, including the council leader, know that we will not accept more deaths due to pollution, excess heat and cold. We will also not accept more flooding costing the county millions. West Northamptonshire Liberal Democrats will fight to reverse the cancellation of Net Zero targets proposed by the Reform council, no doubt at the behest of their cult leader and his fossil fuel donors. 🧡💚🧡
Most people in the UK are concerned about climate change and councils have a responsibility to act but Reform want to follow Trump and cease climate action at our local council.
Councils are for communities, not political games!
Net zero isn’t just a buzzword. It means:
✅ Warmer, cheaper-to-heat homes
✅ Cleaner air around schools and town centres
✅ Better public transport
✅ Better jobs and skills
✅ Safer communities from floods and heatwaves
✊ West Northants must not backtrack. Climate action must continue. For all our sakes.
Please call on your local councillor to back council climate action and sign the petition:🧡

Many thanks to all those who helped, supported and voted for Sally Tom and I on Thursday. Sad to say that Reform swept the board in Kingsthorpe North. Rest assured, we will be holding them to account and making sure they improve our services and care for the people that they now represent. Just a final word to say a massive thank you to Sally whose service of nearly 40 years has been exemplary. Her care and experience will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. 🧡

🚧 Improving Our Roads and Pavements 🚧
Liberal Democrats are committed to smarter, long-lasting road and pavement improvements in West Northamptonshire. Here’s how:
✅ Pothole Priority Plan
No more endless patching. We would shift resources to full replacement of worn-out roads and proactively identifying areas at risk. Every Parish and Town Council will help highlight local priorities.
🚶♀️ Better Pavements
High-use pavements and those that could encourage more walking will be permanently improved, not just patched.
🚲 Cycle Safety First
All roads will be assessed for cycle safety. This would help determine repair and replacement priorities.
📊 Contractor Accountability
Our roads maintenance contract will face ongoing performance reviews and public reporting.
📍 Ward-Level Transparency
You would be able to see where highway repairs are happening so it’s fair and open.
🤖 Smarter Tech, Better Roads
We’re exploring how AI and vehicle-based reporting can help us find and fix problems faster.
Let us know your thoughts and your road and pavement priorities 👇

Had a lovely time with Sally Beardsworth talking to residents in the "dales" at the weekend, it was evident that everyone is incredibly frustrated with the current council. Deep Purple and Whitesnake fans will recognise the name no doubt (and does date me (Chris Leggett)!).
Chris.
