Based in central Nottingham, we have been offering support and advice to the county’s LGBT+ community, their friends and family, as well as local organisations and businesses, since 1975

Our network creates a safe space for people looking for information, advice and help relating to LGBT+ issues, including sexuality,

No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us - Marsha P. Johnson

Pride Month is here. Be proud, be loud and celebrate πŸŽ‰πŸŒˆ

Pride is a celebration of identity, love, and the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community, but it's also a time of remembrance and activism. It honours those who came before, activists who risked their lives and livelihoods to demand basic human rights and acknowledges those still fighting for equality today.

While significant progress has been made in many parts of the world, including marriage equality, anti-discrimination protections, and greater social acceptance, LGBTQ+ people continue to face challenges including violence, discrimination, legal persecution, and barriers to healthcare, particularly transgender individuals.

Let us continue our fight for equality. Happy Pride Month, June 2026 πŸ’–πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers who give up their free time to make the work of our registered charity possible, supporting the LGBT+ community in Nottinghamshire πŸ™πŸΎ

On average we have about 25 volunteers πŸ’•

Without their commitment, hard work and dedication, we would not be able to provide our helpline, website, social media channels or representation at the networks, meetings and committees that we attend 🌈

Soft Launch Social is hosting a Pride Special speed friending event for LGBTQ+ people and allies aged 21–35 at Bustler Nottingham on Wednesday 22 July, 6:30pm–8:30pm 🌈

The event is designed to help people make new friends in the LGBTQ+ community in a relaxed, welcoming and low-pressure environment especially for people who may want to attend Nottingham Pride but don’t currently have people to go with.

The evening includes guided speed friending rounds, conversation prompts, breaks throughout the event and an anxiety friendly atmosphere designed to make meeting new people feel less intimidating. Most attendees come alone!

After 3 sold out Nottingham events, Soft Launch Social is excited to host its first LGBTQ+ exclusive event after lots of requests from the community.

All profits from the event will be donated to Notts LGBT+ Network to support the work they do for LGBTQ+ people across Nottinghamshire 🀍

Do you remember gay life before Grindr? We want to hear your story. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ - Romp Podcast records stories of meeting and dating gay men in a time before an app did it all for you.

If you've got tale to tell of closets, cruising or cottaging then Murry wants to talk to you. See www.rompcast.com for more info and links to the podcasts. Recording is done remotely, there's no experience needed, and guests can stay anonymous if they prefer.

The podcast is at rompcast.com and on Spotify, Apple and Amazon. There's an overview of every episode on the site if you want to get a feel for what it's like.
