One year ago today, I stood at the premiere of my documentary, sharing a story that was once too painful to speak aloud. Telling my truth about being a survivor of sexual abuse was one of the hardest but most empowering decisions I’ve ever made.

This past year has been a journey of healing, growth, and connection. I’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, and strength from so many of you. To those who’ve shared your own stories with me, thank you for your courage and trust. To those still finding your voice, know that you are not alone.

Looking back now, I can see just how much I’ve grown since that day. This journey has taught me so much about strength, resilience, and the power of vulnerability. Along the way, I’ve been blessed to connect with so many incredible people who have shared their own stories, offered their support, and become lifelong friends. Your kindness and courage have been a light on this path, and I’m forever grateful.

I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has been part of my journey over the past year. Guramit Singh #, you saw me at my most broken, when I felt like I had nothing left to give. You listened to me, believed in me, and gave me the chance to share my truth with the world. Your kindness, patience, and unwavering belief in me gave me the strength to keep going when I needed it most. I will forever be grateful to you for helping me turn my pain into purpose.

To Urban Scoop, thank you for giving me a platform and a voice when I felt silenced. Your dedication to amplifying stories like mine has been life-changing, not just for me but for so many others. And to the private investigator who worked tirelessly to uncover the truth, your relentless pursuit of justice gave me the hope and courage I needed to keep fighting.

To my incredible friends, I don’t even know how to thank you for everything you’ve done. You stood by me through the darkest times, even when it wasn’t easy. You were there for me in court, you bathed me when I couldn’t take care of myself, you fed me when I didn’t have the strength to eat, and you reminded me that I wasn’t alone. Your love and loyalty mean the world to me, and I’m so lucky to have you in my life.

To my mum and my family, thank you for your endless love and support. You’ve been my rock, my safe place, and my constant source of strength. And to everyone who came to the premiere and has supported me along the way, thank you for standing with me, for listening to my story, and for showing me that I am not alone.

This past year has been a journey of healing, growth, and connection. I’ve grown so much, made lifelong friendships, and found a renewed sense of purpose. But this is only the beginning. I have so much more up my sleeve, and I can’t wait to share what’s next. Together, we will continue to break the silence, shatter the stigma, and create a world where no one has to suffer in silence.

Here’s to hope, resilience, love, and the power of truth. 💜

This is only the beginning. I have so much more to give and I can’t wait to share what’s next. Together, we will continue to break the silence, shatter the stigma, and create a world where no one has to suffer in silence.

Here’s to hope, resilience, and the power of truth. My pain became my power. I was silenced once. Never again.

To every survivor. Your story matters. Your voice matters. You are not alone.

8 Years Later, and Still Treated Like the Criminal

Eight years. That’s how long it took to finally see the man who abused me face justice. Eight years of fighting, waiting, and reliving the trauma. On the 17th of October, we went back to court, and he was finally sent down. But even now, after all this time, I’m still the one being made to feel like I’ve done something wrong.

I recently received this letter after applying for police vetting clearance for a job. It was declined because of "content found which could undermine the force’s reputation." Let me be clear: the “content” they’re referring to is my story. A story I have shared to raise awareness and help others. A story I should never feel ashamed of. Yet here I am, being treated like I’m the one who did something wrong.

How is it fair that survivors are punished for speaking out? How is it fair that, even after eight years, I’m still being made to carry the weight of someone else’s crimes? The justice system took years to act, and even when they did, it felt like a slap on the wrist for him. Now, I’m being told that sharing my story. My truth is a problem.

This is why I started Kiera’s Voice 4 Change. Because survivors like me deserve better. We deserve a system that supports us, not one that makes us feel like criminals for standing up. I won’t stop speaking out, and I won’t stop fighting for change. To every survivor out there: you are not alone. You are not to blame for what happened to you. And you deserve to heal without being silenced or shamed.

Let’s keep breaking the silence. Let’s make sure survivors are heard. Together, we can change this system. 💜

It’s heartbreaking that so many survivors of sexual assault are still left fighting to be believed, while the systems meant to protect them continue to fail. Cases are dropped, reports are ignored, and justice is delayed—or never comes at all.

Yet in the same system, a drug offence can lead to an immediate arrest, a quick conviction, and a guaranteed sentence. It says a lot about our priorities when property and policy violations are treated more seriously than the trauma and safety of real human beings. Drugs are asked for, sexual abuse isn’t!!!!

Survivors deserve better. They deserve a system that listens, protects, and prosecutes with the same urgency given to other crimes. Justice shouldn’t depend on what’s easiest to process—it should depend on what matters most.

Until something changes, I’m not staying quiet. I’ll keep using my voice to speak up for survivors, to call out the failures in our policing and justice systems, and to demand better than what we’ve been given.

Silence is how this continues. So I refuse to be silent. I’ll keep raising awareness, supporting victims, and pushing for a system that actually protects people instead of letting them fall through the cracks.

Things have to change—and until they do, I’ll keep speaking out.

Petition: Ban plea deals in serious sexual offence cases against children & the vulnerable 04/11/2025

Sexual assault has been hidden in silence for too long. Pain has been carried in silence. It’s time to stop carrying shame that was never ours to bear.

For too long, survivors have been silenced, doubted, dismissed or ignored. That ends when we start speaking up and start making noise when we tell the truth, when we believe each other, when we refuse to let shame win.

Silence protects abusers — voices change the world.

No more shame. No more silence.
It’s gone on for too long.

If you’ve survived, you are not alone. You are seen. You are believed. You are stronger than what happened to you. 🩵

Petition: Ban plea deals in serious sexual offence cases against children & the vulnerable We want the government to change the law so that plea bargains are not allowed in cases of serious sexual offences against children or vulnerable people. We think the CPS should be required to pursue charges that reflect the full severity of the crime.
