Nottingham City Centre Most Haunted Locations

National Justice Museum:

Located on High Pavement, this former courthouse, gaol, and ex*****on site is regularly cited as the most haunted building in the UK. Visitors and paranormal investigators report ghostly screams, slamming doors, and cold spots in the deep, pitch-black caves and pits.

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem:

Carved into the sandstone beneath Nottingham Castle, this 12th-century pub is famous for its haunted snugs. It houses a cursed wooden ship model.

Ye Olde Salutation Inn:

Situated on Hounds Gate, this 13th-century inn rests on a two-level cave system. The pub claims dozens of resident spirits, including a highwayman, a Victorian woman, and a child ghost named Rosie who allegedly haunts the damp underground caves.

Nottingham Castle:

With a bloody 1,000-year history of battles, murders, and hangings, the castle grounds are incredibly active. Visitors and ghost walk guides report sensations of choking, phantom cries, and the lingering smell of bodies near the old walls.

The Bell Inn:

Located on Angel Row, this 15th-century establishment features ancient cellar tunnels connecting to the city's cave network. Spectral monks and a weeping lady in Victorian dress are said to wander the premises

Stanford House:

Located on Castle Gate. Georgian townhouse originally known as Howe House for powerful military figures at the time, before becoming Stanford House for wealthy silk merchant William Stanford. Haunted curse of the land and house, family member passing and moving the house on. Reports of a haunted safe room with uneasy pressure feelings.
