Hello everyone. Following our last update, we have some news. We have finally received the full refund from Marriott today. We will be messaging you individually requesting your bank details and processing the refunds ASAP.
Again, we apologise for the delay but it was an unprecedented event and out of our control. We have tried our best to remain as transparent as possible, with our last announcement detailing that it would take at least 90 days for the hotel to refund us. Though we have the funds now, we might take a while to process the refunds as this is being done individually. We hope to finalise payments within 2 weeks at most.
Thank you so much again for all your patience and support, and have a great summer.

Hey Everyone,
Hope everyone is keeping safe and are relieved to have finished exams, now for some well-deserved time off.
We are still waiting to receive our refund from the hotel, so it will still be a while before people start to get their money back.
Due to Covid-19, we have had to move our Annual General Meeting (AGM) form the last week in March to Friday 29th May at 3pm. We will be taking nominations for the following roles;
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Social Reps
- Year Reps
- Ball Coordinator
Being a part of the committee provides an opportunity to develop communication, organisation and team-working skills valuable within the working industry. In EngSoc you are able to gain extra-curricular activities experience while studying and interact with fellow Engineering students.
The AGM will consist of going through the societies events and gaining feedback which will help the next committee. The last part of the meeting will involve electing the new 2020/21 committee for the society. If you are interested in attending the AGM, please contact us before the AGM to confirm your attendance. Messaging us can be done either n Facebook or by email; [email protected]
We will be organising the meeting through an online meeting most likely with Zoom. A link will be sent on the day for those that have messaged us with interest.
We look forward to hearing from yourself and are excited to elect the new committee to lead the society onto the next academic year.
Kind regards,
EngSoc
Just a reminder that Sabbatical Officer Elections are closing at 17:00 today. In these uncertain times, communication between the university and student body will be particularly challenging.
Previously, Ondrej was vital in enforcing mandatory lecture recordings and has improved disciplinary procedures. As a candidate for the Vice President of Education, Ondrej has a history of listening to and helping students. We believe having Ondrej in this position will ensure our thoughts and concerns are effectively conveyed to the university.
