Happy Autumn Equinox everyone! The balancing point between summer and winter where the day and night is equal length…. Here’s Remy with me, showing us the balance of courage, curiosity and autonomy as he heals from his past trauma 💖 If you’d like to sponsor Remy, please see link in bio or visit our website www.Springwoodsanctuary.com

Great to have taken part in the
# for the past 3 years and recorded the wonderful river health of our mile of the beautiful Teifi. Consistently at lowest recordable levels of both nitrates and phosphates 🎉 This is such a good indicator of health from the Cambrian mountains to our midway point of the river before it heads off through Llandysul, Newcastle Emlyn, Cardigan and then out to the ocean. However, the farms, towns, water treatment works etc on the latter half of the rivers journey to the sea sadly still need to clean up their act.

Create the relationship you dreamed of with the precious animal in your life, with an Animal Connection Consultation.

Your beloved animal companion may already be telling you everything you need to know. Sometimes we simply need help learning how to listen in order to deepen your understanding.

Do any of these sound familiar?
They seem anxious, withdrawn or reactive.
You’ve been told it’s a “behaviour problem.”
Something feels wrong but you can’t work out what.
You’ve tried lots of advice without success.
You simply long for a deeper relationship.

Sometimes they are communicating clearly... we just haven’t yet learnt how to listen.

Consultations are suitable for all animals, not only horses. Link in bio or find more details at www.Springwoodsanctuary.com/gift-shop

I’ll be sharing more of Missy’s story in my substack writing as she taught me so much about thinking and acting differently. After a lifetime of caring for horses traditionally, beginning to question conventional teaching and then “rescuing” her, she turned my world on its head! 14 years ago she and I began the journey that became Springwood Sanctuary. I can honestly say it was her who rescued me. Thank you beautiful, wise one. https://open.substack.com/pub/jacquihowe/p/missy-the-horse-who-taught-me-to?r=1e1f49&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true Link in bio.

We had a little visit from these babies who wandered over the very low river yesterday onto our property. It was quite some task to move them back along the river away from the horses. We got hold of the farmer eventually and he had to go right to the top of our land through some rather dense bush to retrieve them and lead them home. We so wish we could have offered them sanctuary 💔.
