SADC are looking to sign up volunteer tree wardens to help care for and champion trees within their neighbourhood.

This recruitment drive follows a successful pilot scheme in the Cunningham area of St Albans.

The volunteers from across the District will receive training and support to monitor newly-planted trees, assist with watering, report damage and undertake other activities that contribute to the District's tree population.

Trees play a vital role in tackling climate change as they improve air quality and provide valuable habitats for wildlife.

If you are interested in becoming a tree warden, please email: [email protected]

SADC have changed the terms for renting their garages so they can now be used for general storage as well as parking a vehicle.
This follows requests by residents for them to be more flexible about how they allow their garages to be used.

The garage sites offer competitive rental rates and are located throughout the District including Redbourn, London Colney, Wheathampstead, Harpenden and St Albans.

If you are interested in renting a garage, you can view available locations and make an enquiry on your MyStAlbans account by clicking the link.

Works are taking place at Panhandle next week (w/c 5th October), and it will be noisy as Contractors are going to be chipping all the dead trees, and the trees that have very little value to the Wildlife on site.

These works are in preparation for the 200+ new tree saplings that will be planted as part of a community planting day on Sunday 6th of December.

If you would be interested in volunteering to take part in this event, please email [email protected]. More information will be coming out soon.

!!East Common - Temporary Playground Closure!!
Next week (w/c 5th October) East Common Playground will be closed whilst resurfacing takes place.
The work could take up to 2 weeks to complete, but we are hopeful it won't actually take that long.
There is also going to be some new equipment installed, but this work will take place after October half term.
More details on this to follow.
