Happy parkrun day 😊💜

A few things to help us with the new course :

🤫please be quiet at briefing . Others need to hear the new route & everyone needs to hear any course hazards . Plus it’s nice to celebrate together.

🏃🏼‍♀️try to think about where you may like to position at the start . It is congested at the front and people walking would be helpful to be towards the back.

🥹 Don’t run round in large groups across the path . It’s a social event , but we ask you to leave space for over taking and other park users ( the photos show unfortunately this doesn’t happen)

⬅️ It’s now a KEEP LEFT course. Run the course on the left to keep space for others

⬆️⬇️ The out and back is on the RiGHT and SINGLE FILE

At the end of the month , we have parkrun taking place on 31st October.
We have already had a request and we know that in the past you have loved coming in some fantastic costumes 👻🎃🦇

So for those that want to … please feel free to organise your spooky attire but remember we are a family event 🖤

Of course , it’s optional and you can participate and volunteer in anything you wish .

What a privilege it was to RD the launch of the new course at Arrow Valley today! Feedback was generally positive and we had a lovely morning all being 'first timers' in the sunshine. A huge THANK YOU to Redditch STARS for doing their takeover today and filling our volunteer roster so effectively. Hopefully you will have inspired others to consider volunteering from time to time helping us to fill the roster without endless appeals. Congratulations to our first time runners, Saturdays will never be the same again, and congratulations too to our milestone runners and our many new PBers! Thank you all for coming along and enjoying our event in the sunshine. 😊

Afternoon everyone , as it’s mid week we thought we would start posting ahead of our next run .

From Saturday 10th October we will be on a new route . It is similar to our recent course , but going in reverse , so we limit the congestion at the start impacting on other park users by the cafe .

Key info :
- new parkrunner briefing 08:45
- event briefing 08:50
- we now start just by the Ampitheatre. Please gather in the circular area and don’t block the paths , until we move from briefing and ready to go
-Course description is below . You will add a short out and back section in on the second lap.
- we finish on Stitch meadow field , but nearer to the car park . Please move across to the scanners after you have finished and away from the funnel.

The other park users , may not be aware we are running in a different direction, so as always , please respect the other park users and give space .

To get involved, attend Arrow Valley parkrun tomorrow wearing something green. It could be a green top, hair band, shorts or socks!

And, if you are able to, donate the cost of your pre or post parkrun coffee by texting PARKRUN to 70550 to make a single £5 donation.*
