Great to see some BBC publicity today for the NLHF project currently on site at Vicars’ Close, Wells.

Work is progressing apace, with lots of exciting discoveries as we go. This recently uncovered chimneybreast includes materials from every era since the Close was built in the mid C14, and deciding how best to repair the carved shields to the front chimneys, many of which have been previously ‘restored’, is an ongoing challenge…

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gareth Davies, Garth, he passed away on Wednesday 22nd April.
As a fit 48-year-old, we are all shocked at Gareth’s premature passing.

Gareth worked for us for 20 years and will be greatly missed.

We are keeping a book of condolence at our Offices to remember him. There were many Church roofs rescued by Gareth, so if anyone from our wider community would like to contribute your memories, please email the office.
