Coffee & Health: Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

Join us at Blackfen Community Library for a special Coffee & Health session this October.

Eleanor will be sharing her experience of primary breast cancer, with time to talk, ask questions and share any concerns you may have for yourself, a family member or a friend.

We now have a donation station!

We’ve made it a little easier to donate when you’re visiting the library.

Our new donation station lets you choose the amount you’d like to give and simply tap your card.

Every donation, whatever the amount, helps support the library, our activities and the community groups that use the space.

October Half Term at Blackfen

There’s plenty happening at Blackfen Community Library this half term, with activities for different ages across the week.

🍴 Tuesday 27 October, 2.30pm
Family Food Fun, £3 per child. Make a healthy, low-cost meal and learn about energy efficiency.

🧸 Wednesday 28 October, 9.30–11.30am
Stay n Play, free.

🎃 Wednesday 28 October
Pumpkin Carving, 2–3pm or 3.30–4.30pm. £5 per child.

➗ Thursday 29 October, 10–11am
Explore Learning Maths for ages 5–8. Free.

🖍️ Friday 30 October, 10am–2pm
Drop-in Community Colouring. Free.

Planning for the future: Free legal seminar

Silvertime Legal will be joining us at Blackfen Community Library for a free session covering some of the practical things it helps to understand when planning ahead.

The talk will include:

Wills and trusts
Care fees and inheritance tax
Lasting Powers of Attorney

It’s a chance to hear the basics explained clearly, ask questions and get a better understanding of the options available.

Step In: A 7-week course for ages 18–25

Feeling stuck in habits or thought patterns that are wearing you down?

Step In is a small-group course for young adults aged 18–25, covering things like constant comparison, va**ng, late-night scrolling, anxiety and never feeling quite good enough.

The course runs over 7 sessions, with films, a course book and space to talk things through. Sharing is optional, there’s no homework, and what’s discussed in the group stays in the group.
