Having a clear-out❓
Make sure your rubbish ends up in the right place❗️

A professional-looking ad doesn’t always tell the whole story. Rogue waste traders may take your money, then dump the rubbish you’ve paid them to take away.

Before someone takes your rubbish away, make these three simple checks to help protect yourself, your community and the local environment from fly-tipping:

✅Ask to see their waste carrier licence.
✅Check their licence number on the Environment Agency register.
✅Make sure they’ll give you a receipt.

If they won’t share this information, don’t hand over your rubbish. Let’s help keep our communities clean!

🚨 Don’t fall for a 🚨

Rogue waste traders don’t necessarily look like criminals but they can hide behind professional-looking adverts, five-star reviews, low prices and promises of quick rubbish removal.

🗑️ Don’t just trust the advert - check the trader. A cheap, convincing or professional-looking advert does not necessarily mean that the operator is legitimate.

✅ Make these three simple checks to protect yourself, your community and the local environment:

📄 Ask to see the trader’s waste carrier licence.
🔍 Check the licence number on the Environment Agency’s public register or call 0300 065 3000 - https://environment.data.gov.uk/public-register/view/search-waste-carriers-brokers
🧾 Make sure you’ll receive a receipt.

⚠️ If someone won’t provide the information you need, don’t give them your rubbish. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
