Video 10 - Remembrance and Shamfields Road installation

Sunday 8th November is Remembrance day, please come and watch the parade through the town.

32 silhouettes (30 soldiers and 2 sailors) have been placed around the beacon on Shamfields Road, to represent the 32 men who are on the Spilsby roll of honour for WWI. Each one has a small card with the details of those individuals. Please come and walk amongst them and take time to reflect.

A huge thank you to Woodlands Acedemy for their collaboration to make this display happen.

Spilsby's Poppies of Remembrance

When you next pass St James's Church, please take a moment to stop and admire the beautiful poppies

Spilsby Girlguiding and Spilsby Town Council have been busy throughout the year, with lots of hard work, knitting, crocheting and creativity going into creating this magnificent display.

A huge thank you to Spilsby Fire Station for helping us put them up, and to everyone who has knitted, crocheted or help put it together.

It is wonderful to see our community come together to create something so special in remembrance of those who gave so much.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. ❤️🌺

Well done to Joanne with your interview with Look North. You spoke really well and from the heart. You should be proud of the way you presented to the camera during an upsetting time for you and your mum.

Regrettably in the evening, the post with the feature on Sir John Franklin in the play area has been ripped out of the ground and the sign smashed up.

This has created a hole in the all weather surface.

A group of pre teens and teenagers on pushbikes were seen leaving the play area around 7pm.

If you have any doorbell footage or saw anything, please contact the clerk 01790 753189 or email [email protected]

Or contact Lincolnshire Police annonymously on 101 or their website.
