A recent upsetting admission we had was this poor Robin completely stuck to a glue trap.

Luckily, after a lot of careful effort our volunteers, were able to free it from the glue and gently clean the residue from its feathers over time until, to our relief, we were able to see it through to being released back into the wild.

But not all creatures are so lucky. Glue traps are inhumane, causing prolonged distress and suffering - it’s horrible to see anything caught in one. There’s a reason the Scottish government banned these traps and hopefully one day England will also make it a criminal offence to supply or use them. 🤞

If you’d like to support our volunteers in helping wildlife hospital admissions like this one and so many more, please consider donating here: https://donate.kindlink.com/the-british-wildlife-rescue-centre-/1501

🐾 Could our amazing supporters help us win £5,000? 🐾

We’d be incredibly grateful if you could nominate us for the Movement for Good Award!

10 wildlife charities will each receive £5,000, and winning this would make a huge difference to the animals in our care.

If you have a moment, please nominate us and help spread the word by sharing this post with your friends and family

Every nomination really does count!

We could receive a £5,000 donation with your help through the Movement for Good Draw.

A huge thank you to Reboot IT For All

We are incredibly grateful to REBOOT IT for ALL for their generous donation of a laptop, monitor and Samsung tablet for us to use here at the hospital. 🙏

The laptop we had been using was very old and incredibly slow, so having this new equipment will make such a difference to us. The tablet will also allow us to take digital donations onsite, which is becoming increasingly important as fewer people carry cash with them.

Your support will make a real difference and we are so thankful for your generosity. ❤️

REBOOT IT for ALL is a not-for-profit organisation working to bridge the digital divide by repurposing donated technology and getting it into the hands of those who need it most.

Please go and give them a follow and check out the amazing work they do, as well as the different ways you can support them.

Thank you again, REBOOT IT for ALL, for helping us to keep moving forward!

🎄 Christmas is coming… and here’s a gift idea with a difference!

If you’re looking for a one-off, handmade gift that’s a little bit different and helps support the rescue, take a look at the link below.

There are currently 21 bags to choose from, so hopefully there’s something to catch your eye. Every bag is handmade and, best of all, 100% of the sale price goes to support our charity.

And if you have something special in mind, bespoke bags could be made to order — just contact Gail directly to have a chat about what you’d like but don’t leave it too long as her order book fills quickly.

A unique Christmas gift, made with love, while helping a good cause — what’s not to like? 🎄
