Nine years ago today, 22 people went to a concert and never came home.
Today, and always, we remember the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing and hold their loved ones in our thoughts.

The Stalybridge and Hyde Labour MP Jonathan Reynolds MP has whipped the PLP to vote against referring Keir Starmer to the Privileges Committee.
We believe this is the wrong decision. It raises serious concerns about accountability and transparency at the highest level of government, particularly given the allegations that have been raised about misleading Parliament and breaches of ministerial standards.
Public trust depends on MPs holding leadership to the same standards they expect of others.
We strongly disagree with this decision.

Great news, the clock is finally working again! ๐ฐ๏ธ
This has been an ongoing issue for quite some time, and Iโve been raising it (alongside others in the community) to get it sorted. I know many residents have also reported it, so this has really been a shared effort.
Iโm not claiming full credit, but Iโm really pleased to see it fixed at last, itโs something that matters to our local area and Iโm glad persistence has paid off.
Iโll pop a link to my original post
for anyone who wants to see the journey!

Itโs official. Iโm standing again to serve as your councillor for Stalybridge South. Itโs only through a strong Conservative voice, we are getting results on the council.
๐ We got Labour to agree to free parking in our town centres. Weโve been banging the drum for years on this to support shoppers and local businesses.
๐ณ We stopped Labour from building on Sidebottom Fold and Matley Lane. Iโll continue the fight on the local plan to stop the Councils plans to allow solar farms to go on our fields. This is important because it limits farming.
๐๏ธ I said Stalybridge should be the next Uppermill. I got the council to take more notice and put more focus into Stalybridge instead of Ashton. Conservatives delivered funding for heritage and levelling up works that are now in progress. We also granted money to launch Stalybridge Street Fest. Iโll continue to champion Stalybridge and get the Market Hall back in full use.
๐๏ธ Action on HMOs. The Conservatives have said people donโt want HMOs taking over their neighbourhoods. We lobbied for an Article 4 Directive and got it through the council. Iโm pushing for a precept to tackle landlords pushing up rents by housing asylum seekers.
๐ฏ We shamed the council in having zero fly tipping prosecutions under the Brenda Warrington leadership. We pushed for more enforcement and fly tipping is down, fines are up. Iโm wanting to see more CCTV to target problematic areas and installing ANPR cameras on car parks to get traffic wardens out tackling issues like school parking, litter and dog fouling.
๐ท We said the councilโs procurement partner wasnโt delivering value for money. Look at the roof for the Civic Hall and Hyde Swimming Pool extension. Thatโs now been brought in house and one recent project budgeted at ยฃ1m ended up costing ยฃ150k. We are delivering savings.
Being a councillor isnโt just pointing at things. Itโs about getting it done and having a plan. That often means negotiation and compromise. I do that in order to progress things for our area. Youโll see from my page I regularly stand up for you in the council chamber and hold this council to account. Iโm not frightened of tackling big issues that some may shy away from. Iโve exposed the issue of CSE on the council and asylum housing thatโs driving up rents for local people.
Labour will try and take credit for the things we do, but they know our policies are popular and make sense. For too long our borough has been dragged down by their politics of envy instead of championing aspiration to lift people out of poverty.
The choice at this election is clear:
โฌ๏ธ Risking it with an inexperienced Reform candidate who doesnโt have a local plan.
โญ๏ธ An โindependentโ who says they are โbest friendsโ of the Labour council leader and paid more than ยฃ46,231.25 from the council.
๐ฅ A Labour candidate who will continue the councilโs 50 years of failure.
๐ Or you can re-elect me with a track record of getting things done, holding the council to account and a plan to deliver for you.
So on 7th May VOTE LIAM BILLINGTON FOR STALYBRIDGE SOUTH
