The 2026 Season is over! 👋

Sunday 6th September marked the end of our service across the Tendring district for the year! It’s been an exceptionally busy one, but our lifeguards and wardens have now packed up all stations and will no longer be patrolling the beaches until 2027 🏖️

Thank you for your support over what has been one of our busiest summers on record, and to our incredible team who have devoted their summer to keeping hundreds of thousands of beachgoers as safe as possible 🌟

If you see anyone in trouble at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. 🛟

See you in 2027! 🌊

Earlier this year we had the pleasure of meeting Maisy & Bailey from Essex Therapy Dogs 🐾

Following an incredibly busy period, some of our staff enjoyed some much needed relaxation before shift! A huge thank you to the team for coming along and providing their services 🐶 🌊

A reminder that we are back on service this weekend for our final 2 days of the season in Clacton, Frinton & Walton ☀️

Multi-agency training in Clacton! ☀️

This morning we had the pleasure of training with the local Rnli Clacton Lifeboat station to improve working practises and further understand each others capabilities 🌊

Exercises like this allow us to be better equipped for incidents that require a multi-agency response. They also assist towards seasonal events where we will work together, such as the upcoming Clacton Airshow ✈️

Thank you to the team at the RNLI for a useful and enjoyable morning!

One fish is all it takes! 🐟

Both weever fish and jellyfish are increasingly common along our coastline 🌊 Watch to find out what you should do if you think you’ve been stung!

If you or someone else is experiencing severe symptoms like difficulty breathing, chest pain, or severe swelling, please seek emergency medical help immediately by calling 999 or heading to the nearest A&E. 🏥

Do you know your beach flags? 🚩

We have 4 flags used across our seafront 🌊
• Red & Yellow = Safest place to swim!
• Red = Do not enter the water!
• Orange = No inflatables!
• Black & White = Motorcraft only, No swimming!

If you’re ever unsure, ask a member of Beach Patrol, Including our lifeguards and wardens 🛟

Why is it dangerous to swim by Piers & Groynes? 🌊

These areas of our coastline are some of our most dangerous, where permanent, strong currents build as the tide moves. Watch this video to learn more and know what to do if you find yourself in danger ⚠️

As these currents cannot be predicted in size or exact location, we ask beachgoers to stay well away from all coastal structures at all times. You will notice red flags and banners indicating the most dangerous areas of the coastline, please adhere to this advice and move to the red-and-yellow flags - indicating the safest place to swim 🏊
