We’re delighted to launch our new booklets, designed to help people with a learning disability understand what advocacy is and how an advocate can help them.

Everyone deserves to have their voice heard, understand their rights and have support to make their own choices. We hope these booklets will help more people understand how advocacy can make a difference.

A huge thank you to our printers Veaseys Printers for their excellent service and the fantastic quality of the finished booklets. We’re really pleased with how they’ve turned out!

We can’t wait to share them with the people we support !

Be the person who listens and stands beside someone when they need it most.

We are looking for TWO Independent Advocates - (18 hours per week) to support people with a Learning Disability living in East Devon and North Devon.

Salary: £29,013 per annum (pro rata).

As an Independent Advocate, you'll work alongside people helping them to:
• Understand their rights
• Speak up about what matters to them
• Make informed decisions
• Build confidence and independence

You'll provide one-to-one advocacy, facilitate peer advocacy groups and help people influence the services and communities around them.

Our advocates are people who are passionate about supporting others to have choice, control and a voice in their own lives. If you share our values, are a great communicator and believe everyone deserves to be heard, we'd love to hear from you. We'll provide the training and support you need to succeed as an advocate.

We're keen to build a team that reflects the communities we serve. Although each role is linked to a locality, we're flexible about geographical areas, split posts and working patterns, and we'll work with successful candidates to find arrangements that suit everyone.

Could you help us make sure every voice is heard?

Vocal Advocacy is looking for new Trustees to join our Board.

We are looking for people who are passionate about equality, inclusion and ensuring that people with learning disabilities and communication difficulties have a voice and are supported to make their own choices.

You don’t need to be an experienced Trustee. We’re interested in what you can bring to Vocal – whether that’s experience in finance, fundraising, governance, communications, business, or simply a commitment to making a difference.

As a Trustee, you’ll help shape the future of an independent charity with over 30 years’ experience of providing advocacy.

If you believe every person deserves to be heard, we’d love to hear from you.
