A privilege to be featured by the Heritage Craft association, thanks everyone much appreciated!

🌟 Exciting News from Rix & Co! 🌟

We were filmed today at our workshop for BBC East Midlands Today, 6:30pm tonight or catch-up on iplayer 📺

The story being shared is a very special one ❤️

John Fitzgerald, from Leicester repair café The Fix It Group 23, based at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre and The Bradgate Arms, Cropston, was approached in 2025 by a gentleman named Simon, on behalf of his friends Sam and Paddy, to see if John could restore their much-loved old rocking horse.

Sadly, Simon had a terminal cancer diagnosis and passed away later that year. Following his passing, Sam and Paddy approached John again to continue with the restoration. John quickly realised the importance of the project and sought specialist advice and expertise to ensure the horse is restored with the care and respect it deserves.

Once the renovation is complete, the rocking horse will be sold, with all proceeds donated to LOROS Hospice — and that is exactly the plan 🐎💙

A beautiful example of community, craftsmanship, and legacy.
