We are thrilled to announce that the fostering awareness-raising film 'Any of Us' has become multi-award-winning after scooping 'Best Collaboration' and 'Best Creative Comms' categories at the comms2point0 Unawards, which recognises excellence in public sector communications.

We participated in the project and supported it with funding, hoping the production will encourage people to consider fostering for Haringey Council.

Shortlisted in five categories, the film project involves more than 80 council fostering teams from across the UK, making it the largest public sector collaboration to date.

ReelTwentyFive produced the film, which was project managed by agency CAN Digital and fostering consultant, Rachel Brown.

Could you support young people aged 16, 17 or 18 who are going through a difficult period in their lives? If so, you'll be supported by getting paid from £467 per week...

We are looking for 'Remand Foster Carers' whose role is to care for young people while they await court dates for an offence they are alleged to have committed. So, if you're the type of person who is good at influencing a young person to 'turn things around' and would be able to provide short-term foster care in this remit, we would love to hear from you.

To register your interest in remand fostering, email 💻[email protected] or ☎️ 020 8489 3754.

Do you know what 'Private Fostering' means?... It's when a child/young person, under 16 years or up to 18 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, lives away from home for 28 days or more and is cared for by an adult who is not their immediate or extended family member.

It is usually an arrangement which is agreed between a child’s parents and the private foster carers. A child looked after by the local authority is not a privately fostered child.

Parents or those with parental responsibility for the child/young person must advise us of the private fostering arrangement and where a private foster carer lives at least six weeks before an arrangement is made or in an emergency within 48 hours.

If you become aware of a private fostering arrangement, or if you would like any further information, please email Haringey Council’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at [email protected] or phone ☎️ 020 8489 4470.

You can also keep us informed via the Haringey Private Fostering app, download it on the App Store at https://ow.ly/uoQZ50Q3V0F or get it on Google Play at https://ow.ly/Xb5650Q3V0E

We are delighted to be able to share with you the fostering awareness-raising film 'Any of Us' - showing that people from all different backgrounds can become excellent foster carers.

Any of us can foster a child or young person if we have the capacity to care, making such a massive change to a young person's life.

It is the sixth film produced by a growing partnership of councils and children’s trusts to promote local authority fostering. The ‘Any of Us’ project is the largest public sector fostering film collaboration yet, with over 80 participants joining forces.

If you have any questions on fostering, please get in touch with our fostering service, by email 💌 [email protected] or phone ☎️ 020 8489 3754.
