Message from Great Western Railway & Network Rail.
There are planned track renewals affecting train services between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads from Monday 26 to Wednesday 28 October.
During this period, replacement road transport is planned between:
Bath bus station and Bristol Temple Meads (non-stop)
Bath bus station and Bristol Temple Meads (stopping)
Valid rail tickets can also be used to travel on First West of England buses between:
Bath city centre and Bristol city centre
Bath city centre and Oldfield Park
Bristol city centre and Keynsham
Please note that rail replacement services cannot pick up or drop off directly outside Oldfield Park or Keynsham stations. Customers should check the replacement transport locations on our station information pages, under ‘Staffing and General Services’, or consult information at stations.
There will also be changes to train services:
London Paddington - Bristol Temple Meads: trains will use an alternative route and will not stop at Chippenham or Bath Spa. Separate trains will run between London Paddington and Bath Spa via Chippenham.
Oxford - Bristol Temple Meads: there will be no direct services; customers should change at Didcot Parkway.
Bristol Temple Meads - Cardiff Central, Gloucester and Worcester Shrub Hill: trains will continue to run, with some services making additional stops at Ashley Down.
Bath Spa - Westbury and Portsmouth Harbour: trains will continue to run.
Westbury - Weymouth: separate train services will operate.
Customers are advised to check their journeys before travelling and allow extra time where replacement road transport is required. A map of the affected routes is available, alongside further information about First bus services.
We are sorry for the inconvenience these changes will cause and thank customers for their patience while the track renewals take place.
